Smith: Teachers have waited too long for Curriculum for Excellence5.01.30pm GMT Wed 20th Jan 2010 Commenting on the publication of a Curriculum for Excellence document, ‘A Framework for Assessment’ Liberal Democrat Education spokesperson Margaret Smith said: “This is too little, too late. “Teachers are supposed to find out what the Curriculum for Excellence means before the start of the next school year. “It’s nearly February half term and we’re still only just finding out how assessment will change. “This doesn’t help the teachers who are supposed to implement it and it certainly doesn’t help pupils who are due to start school in August. “It will be their education that suffers if the Curriculum for Excellence is not thoroughly explained to teachers before then and if the changes are not properly resourced by the Scottish Government.” Ends.
