Ross Finnie welcomes selection of local activist and school teacher2.14.00pm GMT Thu 25th Mar 2010 West of Scotland Liberal Democrat MSP Ross Finnie has welcomed the selection of local activist and school teacher Simon Hutton as the Liberal Democrat candidate for Inverclyde in the General Election. Simon Hutton was born and brought up in Greenock and still lives locally, a graduate of Glasgow University Simon works as school teacher in a local Inverclyde High School. Commenting Mr Finnie said: “I was delighted by the selection of Simon Hutton as our candidate for Inverclyde, I've known Simon as a friend and as someone who has taken a keen interest in politics and I cannot think of a better choice for the seat. “After the recent revelations about lobbying for cash by former Labour Ministers, following on the whole expenses scandal and attempts by our current Labour MP to keep MPs expenses private I think an honest hardworking local school teacher is the ideal sort of person to represent us at Westminster. “Simon has the drive, the vision and the integrity to restore public confidence in politics and start the process of creating a fairer society and a fairer Inverclyde.”
