Education secretary must make sure there are enough resources for new curriculum - Smith5.09.05pm BST (GMT +0100) Tue 30th Mar 2010 Commenting on the Education Secretary’s announcement on the allocation to local authorities of shares of £3 million pounds for the roll out of Curriculum for Excellence in August, Liberal Democrat Education spokesperson Margaret Smith MSP said: “The Education Secretary must make sure that enough resources are in place for local authorities to deal with the planned curriculum roll out in August and in the next few years. “Liberal Democrats called for clarity and guarantees over the planned delivery in our debate in the Scottish Parliament a few weeks ago. "Liberal Democrats want to see a final decision about the implementation of Curriculum for Excellence made by Easter, when the Curriculum for Excellence working group meets but we want preparation to be ongoing. "It is better to get the Curriculum right that to roll out something that isn't ready and not properly resourced.”
